Summer 2008 Movies – The Final Results

At the beginning of the summer I blogged about how I was not very good at getting my butt to summer movies and I wanted to change that this year. I listed all of the movies that I had some interest in seeing and hoped to see as many of them as I could. Well, the summer is over and here are the results of my efforts:

Iron Man – Saw it and thought it was very good.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian – Didn’t see it but will probably catch it on video or cable.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull – Saw it. It was your cookie cutter Indiana Jones movie.

Kung Fu Panda – Didn’t see it. My interest in it has waned and will only watch it if my nephew is watching it.

You Don’t Mess with the Zohan – Didn’t see it but still want to.

The Happening – Didn’t see it and from what I heard I’m glad I didn’t. I haven’t heard anything positive about this movie.

The Incredible Hulk – I didn’t see it and this is one of two movies I am not happy I missed. I definitely will see it once it comes out on DVD.

Get Smart – Saw it and enjoyed it. But that probably has a lot more to do with the fact it starred Anne Hathaway then anything else.

The Love Guru – Didn’t see but still want to.

Wall-E – Saw it and liked it.

Hancock – Saw it and liked it. It had an interesting story line.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army – This is the other movie I missed that I rally wish I hadn’t. Definitely gonna catch it on DVD.

The Dark Knight – Saw it twice. ’nuff said.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Believe it or not I still have not seen this. I’m just not motivated to do so. I don’t think it has anything to offer me as a Star Wars fan.

One movie originally not on my radar was Tropic Thunder. But that quickly changed when I saw the first trailer for it. I did go and see that so that’s one more feather in my cap. (BTW, I thought it was hysterical).

So I saw only about half of the movies I wanted to see but I consider it a victory as that’s a lot more then I can claim in years past. That means less catching up to do this winter. Maybe I can focus on new TV series like True Blood.

How did you do with seeing summer movies this year?
